What we are looking for:

The job purposes for the Emergency Response Project Manager- ERPM is to continue the multi sector emergency response activities and be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the ECHO funded life-saving project implemented in hard to reach areas of South Sudan following the pre-decided emergency triggers. The position will also develop the on job capacity of the national staff working on the project.

What you will do:

Key objectives for this role include:

Strengthening current multi sectoral Rapid Response in SS and implement in line with desired strategic direction, quality measurements and donor requirements.

Manage, train and develop the capacity of the Multi- sector emergency response teams.

Ensure high technical quality and transparent processes.

Adherence to CC tools and handbooks and other NRC policies.

Responsible for project documentation.

Contribute to the development of NRC's country strategy, action plan and priorities in the protection, ICLA, education, WASH and Shelter / NFI sectors and rapid response.

Specific Responsibilities:

Provision of strategic direction and analysis of desired Multi Sector interventions responding to the humanitarian needs based on assessments (in areas of operation and/or areas of expansion).

Represent NRC in the ERRM consortium managers group.

Initiate Multi sector rapid responses with a strong protection lens and ensuring beneficiary feedback mechanisms is set

up.

Ensure the adoption of appropriate designs and technologies, taking into account cost effectiveness, cultural awareness and protection of the environment.

Technical monitoring and management of multi sector projects: construction of primary schools, temporary learning spaces, as well as latrines and boreholes at schools.

Professional competencies

Relevant university degree or higher education preferable engineering degree.

Minimum 5 years of experience from working as a Project Manager in a humanitarian/recovery. context and specific experience in multi sector humanitarian response.

Experience in protection mainstreaming.

Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.

Technical expertise in Food Security and livelihood will advantageous.

Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.

Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Valid driver’s license.
