Nova Pioneer is looking for a passionate and dynamic Global Social Media and Graphic Designer based in Kenya who will support the Brand Team across both Kenya and South Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely and to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century. This role is needed urgently and so the successful candidate needs to be available immediately.

About the Role
You will collaborate with the Marketing teams in both Kenya and South Africa and develop a compelling and impactful content strategy that is in alignment with the Global Brand, as well as the Marketing strategies. You will also be expected to design original, compelling and consistent digital and print creatives with the Marketing team, with the intent of attracting and converting prospective parents into student enrollments.
You will need to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to identify requirements and define outcomes, while working independently to design and develop creative content for different channels, with a high focus on social media. You must be able to generate new ideas quickly using evidence and passion in equal measure.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
Understand Nova Pioneer’s value proposition and use it to design compelling and consistent digital and print creatives with the marketing team - this includes (but not limited to) visuals for the blog, landing pages, paid ads, emails and social media;
Support marketing efforts to design and develop creative
direction and assets for campaigns, messaging, and collateral, both for online and offline activities;
Calendarise and post daily on the different social media channels;
Help increase engagement by responding to comments on posts;
Collaborate with other Marketing team functions in creating promotional campaigns and adapting content for different channels; must lead in shaping projects and creative requirements before the work starts;
Brainstorm ideas for campaigns, individual assets, and any other creative/brand pursuits with other members of the Brand and External Relations team;
Collaborate closely with our copywriter to conceptualise your visual framework with the copy.
Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to the deadline
Skills, Experience & Qualifications required:
An academic background in Graphic Design, Marketing, and or Media Communications
A minimum of 3 years but preferably 4+ years experience in a graphic design or social media role, either in-house or at an agency;
A strong portfolio of work that shows graphic design work translated for different audiences and channels
Strong time-management and organisation skills consistently demonstrating the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines
An understanding of business goals, product roadmaps, and user insights to translate into clear design priorities
The ability to uphold responsiveness and collaboration in a remote environment – being part of a distributed team requires active participation and proactive communication
Knowledge of and experience in using Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
Good communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships quickly
Experience working with cross-functional teams on complex projects
You are highly motivated, creative, and possess solid knowledge of marketing principles as well as some social media management experience
Results-driven: goal-oriented, moves fast and takes ownership of work.
