NORCAP SE-AU Coordinator African Union - Members of AU only Jobs in Ethiopia
Since 2013 NORCAP has worked in partnership with the African Union Commission Peace and Security Department (PSD) to meet their growing demand for qualified and specialized civilian experts.
NORCAP have supported peace and security initiatives specifically in the area of peace support operations, conflict prevention, and post-conflict reconstruction and development.
Based on the AUC need of continued expertise support NORCAP is expanding the support within and beyond PSD, to also include governance and development.
NORCAP and the AUC work together in choosing deployments that will further the work of the AU towards Agenda 2063.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the deployees to the Director of Peace and Security Department (PSD)
Function as a link between the director’s office and NORCAP on issues related to the SE-AU deployments
Guide receiving units on the role and purpose of deployees
Support NORCAP Project Manager in planning, implementation and reporting of the SE-AU project
Assist Project Manager interactions with the different AUC department and divisions
Approach donors and draft proposal for expansion of the SE-AU project
Act as a link between African Union Commission and Norwegian Refugee Council
Collate and organise deployment requests
Welcome, support and guide deployees
Assist
in recruitment processes for new deployments
Assist with set up, prepare and participate in AU-SE coordination meetings
Qualifications
Holder of a African Union Member nation citizenship
Relevant University degree or equivalent qualification combined with relevant professional experience from a multicultural work environment
Documented results in support services and coordination
An understanding of Project Cycle Management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of AUC including strategic priorities and organizational setup is a clear advantage
Knowledge of the context of Rapid Secondement Mechanism is an asset
Excellent writing, negotiating, analytical and communication skills
Capacity to deal with different actors including leaders and managers at different levels

A good sense of humor
All employees of the Norwegian Refugee Council should be able to adhere to our Code of Conduct and the four organizational values: Dedicated, innovative, inclusive and accountable
Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (English, French, Arabic and Portuguese) is a must. Knowledge of a second or all of the other working languages would be an added advantage
