Senior Finance ManagerNonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic international, non-governmental organization which works to reduce violence and protect civilians in situations of violent conflict and its aftermath, mostly through the deployment on the ground of multinational teams of civilians.
In South Sudan, NP has 9 field teams providing thematically focused protection programming in gender based violence protection and prevention, child protection and displacement (IDPs, refugees and returnees, inter-communal violence reduction and conflict early warning/early response).
This country programme is growing rapidly responding to the dynamic, high needs environment in South Sudan.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Senior Finance Manager to join our South Sudan team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing budget monitors, donor reports and finance functions of Nonviolent Peaceforce in South Sudan.
Furthermore s/he will supervise the grant accountings and reporting and ensure the quality control of finance documentations.
The successful candidate will ideally have least 4-6 years of experience in a similar position. S/he combines creativity and innovation with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
S/he has excellent oral and written communication skills, a demonstrable interest in maintaing possitive donor relations. S/he thrives in a mulitcultural environment, has is a collaborative team player, and is comfortable living and working in highly fluid and insecure environment.

Line Management Responsibility: Director Finance and Operations
Job Purpose:The Senior Manager Finance shall be responsible for overall financial/ Grants management, for the Non violent peaceforce Financial Accounting, funds Management, Cash forecasting, closure of Monthly Financial Books in a Timely Manner, and other finance responsibilities with Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) in South Sudan.
The Nonviolent peaceforce Finance Department ensures compliance with donor regulations as well as Nonviolent Peaceforce internal policies and procedures.
In its role as a support to the Programs and other Departments, the Finance Department provides timely reports and assistance to all departments, senior management and HQ to ensure that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively
Key Objectives/Responsibilities:A. Financial management
Review payment package for accuracy of payment details
Authorize the Payment Package for Payment, sign cheque/transfer/cash payment
Carryout spot checks- unscheduled and complete Cash Spot Check Form
Carryout scheduled cash counts and complete Cash Spot Check Form
Review Cash Fund Disbursment Form (CFDF)
Review the bank reconciliation and sign it off - file on monthly financial reports file
Approve bank and cash reconciliations monthly.
Reconcile the Payroll Control Ledgers from payroll software and posted to QB
Approve all reconciliations for the month.
Prepare monthly cash forecasts
Consolidate cash forecasts from user departments
Advise SMT on cash flow position for the coming month
Arrange interbank cash transfer, conversions, requests as necessary
Safe keep all cheque books and issue sequentially one at a time, receipt must be signed for

Ensure closure of financial Books of accounts for the month by 7th of every month.
Revew and approve Month End reports according to reports checklist
Submit reports as relevant to HQ & In-country Management Update master file in payroll software (HR can set up staff details upon recruitment)
Review draft pay sheets against payroll changes, & review opening balances against closing last month
Close payroll for the month in payroll software
Review final payroll package
Review and approve the coding on payrolls
weekly cash report to HQ
Monthly grants coverage details of all staff and costs and monthly update of gap analysis
Quarterly intercompany réconciliations with HQ
Quarterly forecast (update of the yearly budget)
Quarterly close on time
Manage the mandatory annual audit
Play an active role on cost controls and reduction initiatives within the Senior Management Team
Carry on field support and audit visits and provide spot orientation to field teams on financial accounting procedures
B. Grants Management
Coordinate the budgeting process for NPSS
Consolidate budgets from all departments into the format for annual budgeting
Prepare budget vs actual reports quarterly
Review the Budgets for New Proposals, and Budget Midifications for & No Cost Extensions
Review Budget monitor and give feedback to Finance for any corrections
Review Donor reports and submit Donor financial reports to (PD)
Review and ensure store off site electronic backup package of key financial report including donor reports.
Keep a tracking list of records archived
Review Archives tracking list and recommend disposal of records above retention periods
Seek authorization for disposals
Donor Audit Management
C. Team Mangement
Set yearly objectives and quarterly review plus monthly follow-up
Weekly team meetings and individual meetings with direct report
Finance team members recruitments, inductions and coaching
D. Capacity BuildingOthers
Facilitate training of Finance Procedures to non-Finance Staff
Identify and build, or facilitate staff capacity building
Qualifications and Competencies:
Education, Knowledge and Experience
· Commitment to the work of Nonviolent Peaceforce in South Sudan
· Qualification in Master Degree Accounting,
· Minimum 5 years’ work experience in Finance or operational support functions with a humanitarian nongovernmental organization
· Experience interpreting and applying accounting standards and procedures, applicable country rules and regulations, and Grants Management.
· Experience working in multi-cultural environment
· Quickbooks software experience a plus
