Job Summary

Nigerian Red Cross Society is seeking qualified and committed medical and health care professionals for medical outreach and Primary Health Care services to strengthen and expand the provision of essential health services to refugee population in Benue, Cross Rivers and Taraba States.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The Medical Officer will coordinate and lead the medical outreach team in providing health care to the refugees in the settlements and health care facilities.

The Medical Officer will be responsible for ensuring that effective, efficient and quality clinical services are provided at the respective health facilities where he/she shall be stationed.

He/She under takes patients consultation and physical examination and promoting health education

The medical officer will work in collaboration with other officers in community health and reproductive health to ensure that there is an on-going provision of services that are safe for the beneficiaries both at the community level and health facility.

He/ She shall also provide mentorship and guidance to health workers in PHCs on proper management of medical conditions according to the National guidelines.

Be responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical supplies are available for the outreach team for effective service delivery.

Submit trip reports for the outreach team

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery

Must be registered with Nigeria Medical

and Dental Practitioner’s council

Must possess a valid practicing license

At least two years’ experience in clinical work or humanitarian settings.
