Role Purpose: The Senior Accountant will be Responsible for the management of the finance function across the organization.
This role will take leadership in finance, business planning and budgeting. The Senior Accountant also plays a critical role in guiding the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and fiscal compliance which are critical to business success and continuity.
Responsibilities
Financial Management
Be accountable for Sombha Solutions finance and accounting function
Be accountable for all resources (financial, human resources and fixed assets)
Be the treasurer of Sombha, prepare and present, financial reports, annual work plans and budgets to Board and AGM as required.
Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations, IFRS and country governing laws.
Financial subject-matter expert responsible for all financial record keeping, compliance to financial regulations and policies for Sombha Solutions and partners, monitoring of financial controls and maintaining compliance to budgeting.
Head up internal control
Keeping the CEO informed about Sombha’s financial position and its current and forecast performance.
Keeping fellow managers informed about the financial progress of their activities and supporting them with financial advice about their programs.
Network effectively with local clients and suppliers to develop strong professional relationships
Planning and Development
Manage every business development aspect of our expanding operations in country
Reviewing measures to achieve performance targets.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress and development
Work to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained
Mentor direct reports, especially in regard to our values and vision and contribute to the overall success of our company
Lead customer credit extensions and portfolio management.
Cascade the company strategies, objectives and results through team management.
Recommend internal controls, policies and guidelines
Be in charge of the management function comprising management of staff welfare, communication, equipment, utilities, facilities cleanliness and maintenance including buildings, insurance services, negotiation of tenancy agreements and management of tenancy contracts and conduct periodic department meetings, coaching sessions and performance evaluations as designated.

Experience in using QuickBooks accounting system is a plus

A Business/Mathematical Degree
Minimum Professional Qualification
A member of ICPAU or ACCA
A minimum of seven years’ working experience with at least five at senior management level with a reputable commercial organization.
