Job Summary;Our client works in the field of conservation and climate change response with a goal to provide long term sustained funding for biodiversity conservation and environmental management.
This NGO is seeking for a Resource Mobilization Coordinator responsible to lead the process of establishing and managing a specialized unit for climate and green finance, for climate and landscape restoration finance. This role reports to the Executive Director and based in Lubowa.
Key Result Areas;
S/he will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Green Finance and Investment Unit to ensure that the key performance indicators are consistently met in accordance with the business and operational objectives of the NGO.
Networking with and collaborating with government departments, donors, Private Sector and Environmental NGOs to ensure the design and implementation of sound environment and natural resources management activities.
Staff Supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities;
Taking lead role in fostering the mobilization of climate financing and green investments in priority landscapes.
Acting as an information resource for the NGO grant proposal writing and fundraising for environment and natural resources management programs.
Working with the Executive Director to ensure overall institutional growth and development.
Working with the Program Manager & Finance Manager to establish mechanisms for developing/establishing NGO programs on climate resilience.
Taking lead in fostering relationships with private sector for participation in green investments.
Networking with, and identifying strategic linkages with civil society organizations, for purposes of mobilizing financing for environment and conservation issues in Uganda.
Leading the process of establishing relationships with donors for the mobilization of climate / conservation financing.
Reviewing all NGO funding requests and ensuring donor strategic requirements are met.
Managing the performance of human resources and consultancies deployed on the respective finance and investment assignments
for consistently high productivity.
Ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation for all the projects under your supervision and document best practices and findings.
Supervising and reviewing performance of staff in your unit and set performance targets as per the NGO business plan.
Participating in recruiting and inducting of all staff in accordance with the NGO laid down procedures.
Any other duties as may be assigned by your immediate supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements;
A Master’s degree in Natural Resources Management.
A post graduate training in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Training in fundraising, project planning and management.
Practical experience in investment modeling, financial analysis and risk analysis .
Practical experience in climate and/or conservation financing.
At least three years’ experience in the management of donor-funded programs.
