Reporting: The Internal Auditor reports to the Internal Audit Manager

Location: Kigali, Rwanda

Primary purpose

To conduct operational, financial and compliance audit engagements

Conduct investigations when requested

Test effectiveness of company’s internal controls.

Proving advice in taxation and other financial issues

Duties and responsibilities

The internal Auditor will be responsible for planning and conducting specific audit assignments as per Internal Audit plan.

Develop in consultation with the Internal Audit Manager appropriate audit tests in auditable process and programs.

To identify the risks involved and highlight them

Prepare draft audit reports containing all valid significant findings with relevant recommendations.

Review the integrity and effectiveness of internal controls.

Perform follow-up audits to review status of agreed recommendations

Conduct investigations with approved procedures.

Required Education and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance.

Minimum experience of 5 years in internal or external Auditing, experience in transportation, workshop control or petroleum products management, banks and other financial institutions industries will be an added value.

MUST be full qualified in professional courses such as ACCA, CPA, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CISA

Be a good communicator;

Excellent planning and organizational skills.

High level of integrity.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to share ideas and continuously learn from others.

Computer literate

Proficient in English, French and Kinyarwanda is required, mastering is an added advantage.

Possess audit report writing skills.

Employment terms

This is a fulltime position with a probationary period and subject to regular performance evaluation.
