Essentials Job Functions;Performing accounting functions for the financial segment of business including assisting in preparation and analysing of monthly financial and management reports in the approved accounting system.
Preparing monthly forecasts of Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flows and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Preparing annual budgets and maintaining financial models.
Spearhead payment collection and contacting customers with overdue accounts. The Accountant will ensure understanding, compliance and forward planning in light of clients’ finance and procurement processes.
Reconciling supplier statements as well as daily projection and planning of payments as per cash flow status.
Managing payroll and statutory remittances for the organization.
Preparing financial reporting work papers for audit, company certification and pre-qualification purposes.
Reviewing and analyzing monthly results to ensure accuracy of financial statements, making accruals and adjustments as needed.
Ensuring tax and financial compliance for all contracts and agreements per the country revenue authority.
Overseeing all treasuries and financing activities related to the businesses including; approving and making payments.
Implementing a risk assessment plan to identify risk exposure in areas such as foreign exchange, business interruption and developing mitigation initiatives.
Supporting development activities across the business - analyzing all major capital investments and proposals, including new business development, and providing justification and recommendations for investment.
Hiring, developing and mentoring the accounting and finance team including recruiting, performance appraisals, staff training and development plans.
Developing and building relationships with key banks, obtaining, negotiating and ensuring compliance with all obligations.
Coordinating and/or work on special projects as assigned by the Business head.
Education and Experience;
The ideal candidate will be a certified or chartered accountant (ACCA/CPA or at a minimum BA in accounting/finance, MBA preferred).
Minimum of 3+ years of accounting
and/or finance experience working in a fast growth organization preferably in the Hospitality sector. Experience working with cashiering systems and POS is a plus.
Must be proficient in QuickBooks or related accounting software package; experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
Requirements;

A systematic thinker with accounting and numeracy skills; strong commercial acumen.
Proven communication skills; ability to present to management committee
Leadership ability and strong management skills.
Expertise and proficiency in finance with key knowledge on IFRS principles.
Highly organized and analytical with a good sense of planning, budget development and risk management.
Organizational skills, particularly in terms of contract review, business forecasting, budget development and risk management, management of statutory audit and tax returns.
Excellent communication and personnel motivation skills.
Professionalism and reliability.
A well-developed pattern of achievement, competitive skills, high levels of commitment, energy, motivation, flexibility and personal integrity.
Drive to continually improve processes and seek new challenges.
Ability to work well under pressure, working accurately with attention to detail, and continuously meeting deadlines
Willing to work long hours; including weekends and holidays.
