New Hotel - Accounts Clerks Jobs in Nairobi - Kenya

Scope:

Responsible for maintaining and reconciling account ledgers and balance sheets in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards laid out by Management to ensure maximum internal and external customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances per the accounting guidelines.

Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries of direct invoices per the accounting guidelines.

Paying suppliers; Verify approval on all invoices, scheduling and preparing checks per the accounting guidelines.

Resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.

Ensure credit is received for outstanding memos Issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions per the accounting guidelines.

Verifies Supplier accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions per the accounting guidelines.

Maintains historical records by filing documents per the accounting guidelines.

Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation per the accounting guidelines.

Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices per the accounting guidelines.

Maintain confidentiality of hotel data.

Qualifications.

University graduate in Finance or Accounting

CPA level 1

4 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the Hospitality industry.

Good working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, Receiving Software).

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
