Job Description

New Bright Community Development Center (NBCDC) is a charitable non-profit organization, having the objective of implementing an integrated economic, social, and educational program that is very critical and has a higher impact on the holistic development of marginalized women, adolescents, and the youth in poor communities of Addis Ababa.

Administrative Clerical Works

  • Provide all-around secretarial services and reception at the office.

  • Maintain proper filling system and documentation;

  • Track incoming and outgoing communications and process information

  • Participate in scheduling and setting up meetings and workshops;

  • Maintain office supplies and logistic requirements.

  • Maintain and update staff database, and track staff leaves

  • Participate in staff recruitment procedures and development of job descriptions

  • Pro-actively follow up with NBCDC staff, to ensure that all staff adheres to the NBCDC’s financial regulations;

  • Follow on the annual staff appraisal and support the management.

    Procurement

  • Coordinate and plan periodically the procurement needs of the organization for both administration and program departments.

  • Apply the standard local purchase and procurement procedures, along with the organization guidelines in reviewing purchase requisitions, generating quotations, supplier selection, and negotiations;

  • Manage NBCDC lease and contract agreements

    Petty Cash Management

  • Act as the main custodian of office petty cash,

  • Ensure timely reconciliation of the petty cash account for prompt replenishment.

  • Reviewing cash receipts for accuracy and timely bank process as required.

  • Closely work with the finance officer in managing cash and related finance-related documentation.

    Other Tasks

  • Support the training and workshops
    to be organized periodically by the organization.

  • Act as a team member with program staff, to execute administrative support tasks.

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields from a recognized institution;

  • Minimum of three years of direct experience in related administrative works

  • Experience working with local and international NGOs/CSOs is an advantage

  • Prefer having experience in small grant/finance management or background

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Literacy in computer operation

  • Excellent in spoken and written English
