Nema Environment Assistant Jobs in Kenya

National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), established under the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) No. 8 of 1999 is mandated to exercise general supervision and coordination over all matters relating to the
environment in Kenya; and to be the Principal Instrument of Government in the implementation of all policies relating to the environment.

The Authority invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant positions: Environment Assistant.

This is the entry & training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under guidance & supervision of a senior officer.

Job specifications

Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Daily office maintenance.

Receiving and dispatching Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Audits (EA) Reports.

Notification of EIA reports due for reviewing and processing of licenses.

Receiving and dispatching applications for various Licenses being processed by NEMA.

Receiving and dispatching of office mails.

Assisting in compiling and summarizing of field reports.

Registry maintenance.

Assisting in field data collection, compilation and analysis when required.

Requirements for appointment:

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:

Diploma in any of the following field; Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Management, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering,
Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Natural Science or any other relevant field from a recognized institution.

Proficiency in computer applications.

Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
