Duties and responsibilities

Reports to the Senior Higher Education Officer, AMC;

Assists in the preparation of budgets and work plans of the AMC Department;

Assists in planning and scheduling of meetings within the AMC Department;

Supports the establishment, strengthening and continuous improvement of the Institutional and Programme Monitoring Function;

Ensures that higher education training institutions are compliant with the laws, regulations and guidelines of NCHE;

Assists in the development/review of checklists for institutional AMC;

Assists in coordinating awareness workshops to inform and guide institutions on emerging issues regarding AMC of institutions.

Assists in the dissemination of reports within the Unit for the attention of the DQAA;

Assists in the preparation of reports on all matters of AMC to Higher Authorities (Council, Committees and Management);

Organizes benchmarking activities in order to promote lesson learning and good practice;

Engages in research and publications in reputable journals and internationally recognized conference proceedings on institutional AMC;

Carries out any other duties that may be assigned from time to-time by the immediate supervisor.

Person Specifications

Holds a Master’s degree in a relevant

discipline from a recognized institution;

A PhD degree is an added advantage;

Teaching experience in a University or Tertiary Institution is an added advantage;

Demonstrated knowledge of quality standards and regulations in higher education;

Must be ICT literate;

Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Expected Outputs

Work activity plans and budgets;

Publications in relevant periodicals;

Department Unit evaluation reports showing targets achieved;

Number and type of workshops/conferences successfully organized;

Number of standards developed/revised;

Number and type of collabo¬rative initiatives conducted;

Number and type of procedures and guidelines in place and functional.
