Duties and responsibilities

Reports to the Senior Higher Education Officer, ILA;

Assists in the preparation of budgets and work plans for the ILA Unit;

Assists in planning and scheduling of meetings with in the ILA Unit;

Engages in inspections, verifications and Administrative follow-up visits to institutions and shares findings within the Department;

Ensures the proper functioning of Accreditation and Licensing repository, maintenance and updating of ILA files in the Unit;

Assists in the selection of Peer Assessors for the review and assessment of programmes including professional associations and regulatory bodies where relevant;

Assists in coordinating awareness workshops to inform and guide institutions on emerging issues regarding ILA of institutions;

Assists in the preparation of reports on all matters of ILA to Higher Authorities (Council, Committees and Management);

Organizes benchmarking activities in order to promote lesson learning and good practice;

Assists in dissemination of reports within the Department;

Engages in research and publications in reputable journals and internationally recognized conference proceedings on ILA;

Carries out any other duties that may be assigned from time to-time by the immediate Supervisor.

Person Specifications

Holds

a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution;

A PhD degree is an added advantage;

Teaching experience in a University or Tertiary Institution is an added advantage;

Demonstrated knowledge of quality standards and regulations in higher education;

Must be ICT literate;

Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

Publications in relevant periodicals;

Unit evaluation reports showing targets achieved;

Number and type of workshops/conferences successfully organized;

Number of standards developed/revised;

Number and type of collabo¬rative initiatives conducted;

Number and type of procedures and guidelines in place and functional
