Job Purpose Statement

The Senior Manager Network and Network Security role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and
overall operations that facilitate the stable operation of the bank’s Core Network, Network Security and Data centre infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas; particularly network infrastructure, data communications/telecommunications systems
and Data Centre.

In collaboration with external vendors, system experts and consultants. The Senior Manager Core network and data centre will schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Network Infrastructure

Analyses plans, designs and implements network projects in accordance with Bank’s requirements; Reviews IT infrastructure policies regularly to ensure compliance with guidelines

Evaluation and selection of new Networking technology to support new products and services for the Bank.

Direct and supervises the work of personnel and/or contractors assigned to the unit, in terms of network security equipment and software installation, systems support and maintenance and organizes prompt security support by assigning the available technical resources while exercising quality assurance functions

Manage IT Networks Service Agreements

Manage and set priorities for design, maintenance, development and evaluation of all infrastructure systems including LAN, WAN, Internet, Intranet, Data Centre and other infrastructure related systems

To provide management oversight for the Group networks and data

Centre to ensure projects, incidents, problems and escalations are dealt with according to defined set of policies, processes, procedures and SLA's.

Network Security

Analyses plans, designs and implements systems security policies and controls in accordance with Bank’s requirements

Build a systems security architectural framework that is applicable throughout the organization for Both Server farm and the network

Reviews systems security configuration and plans cost-effective upgrades to keep up with changing technology, growth of bank, and needs of banks components;

Effectiveness

of the network security system (policy, controls and infrastructure) with regard to protection against exposure to and impact of risks associated with data loss, corruption and/or unauthorized access

Business Continuity Planning

Assist in the development of a Business Continuity Plan for the IT operations of the bank.

Provide and execute detailed Disaster recovery plans Network, ATM and other Office Automation systems

Liaison with telecoms bodies for deployment of the BCP

Liaison with the Head, IT and other internal business units for maintenance and deployment of the BCP.

Out-Sourced Support Services

Manage a team of outsourced Support vendors based on both head office as well as regional offices for support of the banks hardware platform

Work closely with vendors to ensure an up to date inventory of Banks equipment is kept and maintained

Coordinate and work closely with the bank’s Property administration and ensure proper storage and disposal of IT equipment after they are declared obsolete.

Ideal Job Specifications

Academic:

University degree in Information technology/Computer Science/Electrical
Engineering/Telecommunications.

Professional:

Training and certification in ICT Service Management e.g. ITIL, Cloud Certifications, Network related certification e.g. CCNA, Security related certification CCSA etc.

Business Continuity training

Desired Work Experience:

Five years’ experience in security and Network infrastructure support in medium to large organizations.

Three years in supervisory role
