Job Purpose Statement

The role of the fixed income trader includes buying and selling fixed income securities for retail client and institutional investors. He/she is responsible for managing the daily trade volumes to ensure timely and appropriate execution of the orders in compliance with the regulatory policies.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Financial

  • Provide an insight to clients regarding their fixed income investment requests as well as relevant feedback based on the market trends.

  • To offer relevant fixed income products and services as per the client's requests and interests.

  • To perform necessary KYC and to make sure that all the activities of trading are carried out efficiently by adhering to the rules and regulations of the organization.

  • To maintain healthy professional relationships with the clients and handle all their issues and provide a timely resolution for the same

  • Drive fixed income trading revenues and market share targets.

    Internal business processes

  • Ensure that the bond calculators are correct and always updated.

  • Executing trades in a timely and efficient manner as per Service Level Agreements.

  • Ensure that all fixed income trades comply with all the relevant internal and external rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Communicate all relevant and critical information to management in a timely and effective manner and in compliance with the company, NSE & CMA
    procedures.

    Customer

  • Ensure that customer Service standards are complied with and met at all times.

  • Ensure turnaround times for executed trades are met.

  • Ensure customer complaints are dealt with expeditiously and conclusively in the first instance.

    Learning and growth

  • Takes responsibility for own training both formal and on the job.

  • Maintain advanced knowledge of fixed income markets.

  • Ensures compliance with the ICIFA annual training requirements.

  • Achieves at least 40 hours of training annually.

    Job Specifications

    Academic & Professional

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or any other acceptable degree from a recognized University.

  • Certification by NSE for ATS, Avvento and Derivatives

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

    Desired work experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of fixed income trading or customer facing role.

  • General knowledge of the Financial Markets.
