Job Purpose StatementTo provide operational support and coordination of key activities relating to financial and business analysis, operations, research and planning to Business Banking Unit. This will involve supporting key initiatives developed by the Head of Business Banking and thus enable positive
impact be generated from such key initiatives and projects through analysis, monitoring, reporting and providing feedback on the status of such initiatives and key projects so that timely intervention can take place.
The role will also engage in writing business reports for Board meetings, MCC, BCC and
Performance Reviews which may include BCC pipeline, MCC watch list and EAR and provide
day to day support on action plans arising from such forums.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Business Performance:
Prepare, review and manage submissions for all key forums (Board meetings, BCC, MCC and
Performance meetings)
Prepare and provide business pipeline report for weekly review
Track business performance, delivery on strategy, initiatives, projects and sales dashboard.
Leadership Team Meetings: Coordination of data; required analysis; initiative / project tracking and updates; action points tracking; and presentations.
Coordinate departmental meetings, and other
meetings assigned. Draft meeting agendas and pre- meeting documentation / presentations / information packs / etc., for approval and circulation.
Creating and maintaining weighted scorecards
score card that will aid in driving retail performance and are aligned to business objectives.
Business Management:
Manage and lead projects / initiatives as directed by the Business Head.
Brief Business Head before internal and external meetings as necessary, including preparation of presentations / spread sheets, coordination for data and required analysis.
Monitor and track the department’s performance
against its strategic initiatives, annual plans and budgets and keep the leadership team appraised of progress or lack thereof. Track the implementation of agreed action plans.
Tracking weekly movement of Assets and Liabilities
Tracking performance data per RM on key KPIs such as forex, trade, NII, new accounts & disbursements.
Department Administration
Facilitate leave utility review sessions for the department to ensure compliance to leave
management guidelines. This also involves analysing and reporting on leave utility progress for the team.
Tracking training hours per RMs and by clusters
Proactively track responses to their logical
conclusion.
Coordinate events and functions for the
department, scheduling meetings, teleconferences,
conferences, etc., and travel as required.
Maintain office supply inventory and maintain
adequate stocks for the smooth operation of the
department.
Collaborate with relevant
departments/colleagues to confirm equipment,
fixtures and furniture are fully operational and in good and safe working condition.

Digital Working & Record Management
Use of digital workflows and processes to achieve
efficient and impactful engagement and accurate
delivery of service.
Create and maintain a physical and digital document recording and filing system that is in compliance with all applicable record-keeping requirements, and ensure the safe filing, custody and easy retrieval of departmental records Use data, information and insights to drive decision- making.
Financial
Manage activities within approved limits.
Contributing to the financial management of the
function
through monitoring, analysis and reporting of the department’s expenses.
Manage cab expenses and provide Business Head
with monthly usage report
Risk Mitigation, Compliance & Audit
100% adherence to policies, procedures and statutory guidelines. Minimise exposure to bank wide risks, enforce zero tolerance to non-compliance with KYC and AML regulations.
Close gaps/lapses identified, corrective and
preventative actions identified by audit, risk and
compliance reviews; investigations or other
assessment mechanisms are undertaken within the
agreed time frame.
Productivity, Performance & Development
Deliver performance objectives set. Institute
immediate corrective action where performance is
below par.
Proactively manage own learning and development.
Adhere to annual leave plan agreed with line
manager.
Adhere to HR policies.
Qualification
Academic:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited university. Professional: Business analytics skills
Desired work experience:
At least 3 years’ experience working in the business area and data analysis in a role requiring:
Ability to understand business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and
document business requirements and address critical issues;
Adeptness at queries, report writing and presenting findings as well as oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrated understanding of the design and development of reporting tools and dashboards;
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.),
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with a very high level of attention to detail and accuracy; and
Ability to organise, plan and prioritise assignments within multiple projects and to work with minimal direction and be very flexible to coordinate complex activities that are often subject to rapid or extensive changes; and the ability to work well within a team.
Technical Competencies
Advance level competency in Excel and other MS Office tools.
Strong Analytical skills. Be able to analyse and interpret financial data to make appropriate business suggestions and decisions.
Proficiency in computer use & keyboarding speed and excellent
presentational skills.
keen eye for detail, quality conscious and has a strong sense of responsibility and ownership
Sound Business knowledge
Understands the connection between operations and financial performance.
Fundamental understanding of risk, products and operations related to banking and financial services. Working knowledge of own area of operation.
Communicates information in various formats to best address the customers’ needs.
Adheres to the company’s values and policies and delivers to set objectives. Has high moral intelligence.
