Job Purpose Statement

Enterprise Data Management ("EDM”) is a process that seeks to ensure Data in NCBA Group PLC
is accurate and consistent to meet the strategic and business goals. "EDM" has eight key capabilities i) Data Architecture (DA); ii) Data retention & archiving (DRA); iii) Data quality
management (DQM); iv) Metadata management ("MM"); v) Master data Management (MDM); vi) Data privacy & security (DPS) vii) Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) and viii) Data governance.

This role will drive management of the Master Data strategy that brings together the fundamental
business data building blocks that are shared across multiple business transactions, e.g. T-24
captures and generates data becomes a I MDM asset', that is used in other systems such as
customer management system (CRM), SAP -Bl regulatory reporting. This role owns and delivers on the Master Data & Data Quality Management strategy and reports into the Chief Data Officer,
CDO.

The Data Quality Lead is a senior management role tasked with providing leadership and
overseeing the following administrative and operational functions within the data management
office and group:

• Master Data Management: this function is responsible for Master data management (MDM), a process and technology-enabled discipline in which business and IT work together to ensure the uniformity, accuracy, stewardship, semantic consistency and accountability of the enterprise's official shared master data assets.

• Data Quality Management: is the capability to appropriately design data quality requirements across the business data domains, diagnose data quality issues, correct them and monitor the solution effectiveness.

At its core, the role involves supporting the CDO and other team leaders in implementing the
Enterprise Data Management Framework in regards to Master Data & Data Quality Strategies, drive strategic performance in order to achieve strategic results that is, Data is seen as a Strategic Asset at NCBA Group PLC and creates sustainable stakeholder value.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Financial

• Set overall strategy for master data management

• Define and implement master data management metrics

Data Quality

• Understand the cost, operational, resource and business as usual impacts of the remediation efforts undertaken to improve data quality

• To co-ordinate and manage Data Quality throughout the organization and create greater value from the organization's data.

• Provide technical leadership to Data Quality Governance.

• Participate in data strategy planning to ensure MDM & DA needs and limitations are taken into account.

Customer

• Provide direction to the MDM functional and technical teams

• Review escalated issues, and meet with the business to understand user needs and technical feasibility Data Quality

• Monitors the qualitative measures of data quality such as business satisfaction measures, collaboration or improved productivity measures, business opportunities/risk measures and compliance measures

• Ensure governance that captures and reports on the status of the data on issues that need to be resolved and the impact it has on affected projects and interested parties

Internal Business Process

• Design the processes and procedures for Master data management.

• Develop and institute data lifecycle processes and undertake initiatives to:

• Improve the processes that capture and process
master data

• Improve overall enterprise master data quality and reliability

• Initiate and maintain MDM metrics management.
Data Quality

• Co-ordinate and manage Data Quality throughout the organization and create greater value from the
organizations’ data.

• Define the quality metrics for critical data domains and demonstrate improvements against these metrics.

• Coordinate activities required to meet data quality standards.

• Design and Implement the Enterprise Data Management Monitoring Quality control process.

• Monitor and closely track the state of the quality of data enterprise-wide.

Learning and growth

• Work collaboratively with Lead community of System Analysts (Data Custodians) and Data Stewards, to drive and implement Master Data (MD) and Data Quality (DQ) standards

• Design and implement various Master Data & Data Quality roles within the organization.

• Identity & Implement initiatives across the business to build Master Data & Data Quality management capability.

• Identify external stakeholders to partner with for purposes of knowledge sharing and content development.

• Support the establishment of a Data Management Centre of excellence

• Personal growth through trainings and conferences

• Develop own competency score & development plan with the aim of ensuring employee Engagement score is achieved as per defined organization metric Performance expectations achieved/exceeded.

Ideal Job Specifications

Academic:

Bachelors in Computer Science, Finance & Banking MIS, or Information Management,
operations management

Masters or diploma in data management/data science, will be an added advantage

Professional:

Hands on experience in Database Development and scripting, with expert level skills in writing SQL queries.

Hands on experience in developing ETL packages using Oracle DI, SQL Server Integration Services, SAP Data Services

Deep understanding of industry standard formats and protocols (XML/XPath/XQuery and JSON)

Excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills

A good knowledge of the information requirements and standard reporting within Financial Services industry

Desired work experience:

• Minimum 8 years' experience in IT systems development within a large, digitized organization designing, implementing and managing mission critical systems, with at least 5 of those years within BI development and/or support.
