11. NPSC Manager Records Jobs in Kenya
Job summary: Reporting to the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer through the Director Corporate Support Services, the Manager Records will be in charge of registry services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Managerial
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of the records management strategy that is derived from the overall Corporate Support Services directorate to ensure the National Police Service Commission records systems and processes are efficient.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of divisional budgets and work plans to ensure adequate allocation of resources for the division.
Oversee the formulation of policies and procedures of divisional operations to support the achievement of the records management division and the overall Corporate Support department.
Ensure staffs are sensitized on creation and management of records management system that are appropriate for the needs of the commission, to ensure that all staff understands how the system works.
Participate in the records management committee meetings that come up with records management procedures and policies to ensure properly formulated policies and procedures that add value to the records management division.
Operational
Ensure sufficient storage and effective records retrieval systems are in place to ensure efficient retrieval of documents in the commission.
Mentor and coach staff members within the division to enhance work performance as set out in the appraisal schemes.
Manage customer relations in the interactions with other service departments in the commission to build relations, transparency and smooth service delivery.
Provide input into the identification of modern and appropriate state of the art technologies and ensure the adoption by the division to ensure state of the art service delivery in records management in the commission.
Provide input into the budgeting process.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills
A Bachelor degree in Information Science/Records Management or any of the Social Science from a recognized institution.
A Diploma in Records/Information Management, Information/Library Science Library Science.
Management course not lasting less than 4 weeks.
Computer Literacy.
Knowledge of relevant Acts and Regulations governing Records Management.
Knowledge of Professional standards.
Budgeting.
Communication skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to lead and manage teams.
Problem solving skills.
Supervisory skills.
Meet the requirements of chapter Six of the constitution of Kenya.
Ten (10) years of service, of which three (3) should be in a comparable position from a reputable organization.

Job summary: Reporting to the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer through the Director Corporate Support Service, the Manager Litigation will be responsible for preparation of briefs on legal instruments,
attending to all court cases, working Attorney General’s office to ensure that the Commission is adequately represented in all litigations in courts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Managerial
Lead the development and management of effective legal working relations with relevant public entities in national and county governments to ensure compliance with legal standards.
Lead the provision of high level legal and related policy advice and analysis to ensure set guidelines are maintained.
Draft and edit legal media materials, including press releases, advisories, and background memos to ensure accuracy of information.
Organize and maintain qualitative and quantitative data used to develop reports used to develop policy recommendations and reports.
Identify and develop legal projects and fundraise for projects to ensure growth of the legal function.
Operational
Interpret and clarify general and specific legal direction and expectations for the commission to ensure set legal guidelines are adhered to.
Prepare regular reports for the Commission Board on legal initiatives and advocacy.
Handle all matters related to litigation which include drafting legal opinions and briefing National Police Service Commission in all court decision to ensure compliance of all communications affecting the Commission.
Participate in legal discussions and explanations of complex legal issues to assist staff to understand legal matters.
Settle disputes affecting the Commission in regard to legal affairs.
Identify and monitor emerging legal development and key concerns in the public sector to keep up to date with issues.
Provide input into the budgeting process.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor`s degree in Law from a recognized university.
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Computer literacy.

Interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to lead and manage teams.
Problem solving skills.
Supervisory skills.
