Job Description

  • The Project Assistant, under the supervision of the NLU Project Manager will assist and meet the daily administrative needs of the project team and project partners to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support NLU project manager and the project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle

  • Assist in organizing and monitoring schedules and coordinate all related activities to ensure those project deadlines are met

  • Prepare project documentation, such as agreements with participating libraries
    Organize project-related training events, and meetings of the project team and partners, which includes all the logistical support and coordination

  • Provide communications support and assistance to ensure timely responses to inquiries including, acting as a liaison for the project team with libraries and project partners, and other stakeholders, answering questions and routing requests appropriately
    Organize reimbursement of local travel costs and per diem to librarians Manage orders of supplies, needed for project implementation, ensure that all public

  • procurement rules are followed and properly documented

  • Complete any other administrative tasks, necessary for the project

  • Be available to attend project-related meetings and events, and for counsel via e-mail, skype, or other telecommunication means
    Project Assistant Requirements and
    Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field

  • Minimum of 2 years’ project-related work experience

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving

  • Able to proactively address potential issues

  • Excellent computer skills and significant hands-on experience with Microsoft
    Office Suite

  • Collaborative working style and team-player attitude

  • Positive and encouraging personality

  • Able to work independently with little supervision

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to the team’s success

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Able to work in a deadline-driven environment
