National Housing and Construction Senior Design Architect Jobs in Uganda


National Housing and Construction Company Limited seeks to recruit competent persons with high levels of integrity, dedication and commitment, who will work as part of an exciting team with a vision of becoming better professionals and execute the Company’s mandate.

Responsible for formulating proposals for new project sites ranging from planning, design, and documentation as well as construction supervision and management

Responsibilities

  • Initiation and formulation of conceptual proposals for new projects and other related building works in line with Company business
    Prepares design guidelines and concept papers including aesthetic concepts and coordinate other design team members and draft persons for the preparation of detailed drawings.
  • Consultation and preparation of documents for applications to local authorities for approval.
  • Lodges project drawings to the local authorities and follows them up regularly to ensure speedy approvals.
  • Supervises ongoing constructions at the sites in order to ensure strict adherence to architectural designs and building standards.
  • Participate in various meetings as scheduled with business partners and Stakeholders
  • Manage and develop staff under his/her supervision, through inter alia, professional training, coaching, mentoring, delegation, appraisal and feedback

    Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in Architecture, or a closely related and relevant discipline from a recognized University.
  • Full and valid membership of a nationally, or internationally recognized professional Architects ‘body, with a valid practicing certificate is a MUST.
  • Specialized training, with appropriate qualifications in Project Planning and
    Management, from a recognized institution, will be an added advantage.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in application of Architectural designrelated Software such as AutoCAD, ArchCAD, Revit, 3D & Animation are a MUST
  • Proven knowledge and skills in application of MS Office Package (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint), are essential.
