National Bank Senior Manager (Transactional Banking) Jobs in Kenya
Position Scope: This position is responsible for spearheading the Transactional Banking Products and Channels Development for customers of the Bank with the main aim of ensuring that the Bank’s Non-Funded Income line (Fees and commissions) grows while at the same time ensuring customer utilization of the channels to enhance customer retention and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Steer the delivery of all electronic banking based products to the Bank’s corporate and business banking customers as well as offer required support to the customers to meet and exceed planned revenue and volume targets
Drive and monitor the sale of the various collections, payments/remittances and trade products to existing and prospective customers, in-order to generate maximum fee/commission based income.
Expand the Bank’s transactional product offering to current and prospective corporate and business banking customers through enhancements of cash management and internet banking product features.
Identify and translate market opportunities into new corporate and business banking products and solutions in-order to generate revenue for the Bank.
Provide accountability for the Transactional Banking unit in order to embed the cash management, online trade and internet banking products as significant products for the Bank.
Lead, motivate and develop the Transactional Banking team to ensure the business objectives are achieved.
Establish and implement appropriate models, procedures and processes for guiding the department’s activities and from time to time review/modify these to fit in the Bank’s risk management processes.
Drive internal engagements and partnerships with stakeholders such as business segment heads, ICT, Finance and Operations departments.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling and referral to other NBK sales lines through developing and maintaining a wide understanding of customer businesses and needs.
Facilitate regular/continuous review of Corporate, Institutional and Business Banking products to ensure their viability and enhancements in-case of weaknesses so as to provide a superior offering to the customers.
Provide leadership to the sales team in all work related aspects and ensure smooth flow of communication.
Motivate the team and drive projects through to completion resulting in consistently high performance and achievement
Evaluate and manage direct subordinates in a fair and consistent manner to achieve high standards of competence, motivation and service orientation.
Attend
succession planning, in line with the Bank’s policies.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, AKIB)
Post graduate and or Banking qualifications will be an added advantage
Professional qualification in sales / marketing
Any other relevant insurance qualification and/or membership from Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) or associate Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) will be an added advantage.
6-8 years’ relevant experience (in well-established organizations) in corporate banking, banking operations, customer service, with at least 4 years’ in head of department to senior management positions relevant to Transactional Banking within Corporate Banking.
Track record of attaining targets of business growth and profitability in the financial services and banking sector.
Have appreciation and operating knowledge of the banking industry, market, trends as well as challenges.
Demonstrable cross-cultural, people and relationship management skills, networking and negotiation skills, team motivation and leadership competence.
Sound understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements of corporate governance, business and banking operations.
Effective communication
Some knowledge of the Bank’s lending principles, policies and procedures.
Prior experience of dealing with customers
High degree of interpersonal skills when dealing with a range of people and situations.
Good computer skills.
Negotiation and Influencing skills.
Planning and personal organization.
