Job PurposeThe overall responsibility of the Head Compensation & Benefits is to implement reward and benefits strategy, and programs (salary administration, remuneration surveys, Bonus Scheme, Pension Schemes Liaison & Administration), undertake Job Evaluations, Records Management, maintenance of HR Policies and HR Business Continuity Management.
This role also provides expert advisory, analysis support for HR projects and ensuring that business units have KPI’s aligned with the company’s strategic goals and objective.
Main Duties & Responsibilities Develop input for the Reward and Benefits Strategies and Plans.
Leads in assigned development, review, re-engineering and or implementation of Reward and Benefits Programs/Schemes and their relating operational procedures.
Implements the HR Policies, procedures and processes relating to Reward and Benefits and provides line management with advanced guidance on matters arising thereof.
Develop and execute the annual department Strategy and Business Plans within approved HR Strategy.
Develop and manage the department Staff Cost, CAPEX, OPEX and Projects budgets within approved HR Budget.
Develop a reporting framework on staff productivity and HR KPI’s.
Designs and maintains the methodology for the job creation and the job evaluation.
Accountable for the departmental risk and governance, develops and maintains risk and compliance controls, processes, documents, and registers.
Manage Staff productivity and ensuring business units KPI’s are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
Develops, manages and or maintains relationships with INTERNAL / EXTERNAL customers/stakeholders/supplies relating to own HR Area: Heads of Human Resources of International Businesses, Remunerations Survey Consultants, Job Evaluation Consultants, Pension
Scheme Service providers (Administrators, Fund Managers, Lawyers, Property Managers), Functional Directors, Boards of Trustees of the Pension Scheme), RBA, Finance Division ana Heads of Departments.
Academic & Professional Qualification
A University Degree in Human Resources or Social Science field from a recognized university.
Higher National Diploma in Human Resources or relevant Certification in Human Resources.
Master's degree will be an added advantage.
Work Experience & Skills
Member of IHRM and with current practicing certificate
Eight (8) years’ experience in HR of which five (5) years must have been as a HR generalist/HR Operations/Compensation & Benefits.
Commercial acumen.
Extensive knowledge of HR best practices and hands on experience regarding, Rewards, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management Cycle, Organization Design, Talent Management and Employee Relations.
Experience in implementation of HR Strategy, policy, and programs.
Ability to engage, inspire and influence.
Excellent interpersonal, team management and communication skills.
Excellent Stakeholder /Client management skills.
High levels of Emotional Intelligence.
Counselling Skills, Financial literacy, Computer Literacy.
