Position Scope: Responsible for providing an end to end effective delivery of Transactional, Business, Products & Services; grow non funded revenue, contribute in growth of quality assets, retain and increase cheap and stable funds from existing customers and capture new business relationships.
This is through blended solutions that are aimed at ring-fencing the customer’s ecosystem as well as ensuring the bank remains the primary banker for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to product houses to maximize productivity through collaboration with business segments across the bank. Support the entire bank with NFI growth, deposit mobilization and asset growth through Trade Finance Solutions, Custodial Services, Cash Management and Digital Integration & eCommerce
Develop and lead implementation of product management strategy under Corporate Banking Division.
Define and oversee delivery of the Transactional, Business, Products & Services value proposition
Help define and implement product specific strategies for Transactional Banking, Trade Finance, Custodial Services, Cash Management, Digital integration and eCommerce and Client Support.
Evaluate and approve new as well as enhancements to current product and service offerings
Develop in-depth knowledge of the sector’s strategy, business, financial performance, specific customer insights and translate them to viable strategies.
Customer acquisition and retention – identify and market size new business opportunities articulating Customer Value proposition to penetrate and grow market share.
Participate in acquisition of selected new customers
Develop customer base through innovative customer value proposition
Identify potential synergies to enhance product and service offerings within Corporate Banking
Ensure effective collaboration and smooth customer handover between the product house and the business sectors
Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations
Coordinate with HR to develop HR policies (hiring process, compensation, etc), incentive programs, performance management/review processes and training programs for the product house staff
Monitor and manage performance vs. budget and targets
Conduct performance review of immediate staff and oversee review process across the units
Provide leadership and ensure proper development for all the product house staff
Oversee professional development of all individuals in the unit
Manage selection of direct reports and develop succession planning
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s
degree in a business-related field
Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, AKIB) will be an added advantage
Postgraduate and or Banking qualifications will be an added advantage.
Professional qualification in sales / marketing will be an added advantage.
Any other relevant insurance qualification and/or membership from Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) or associate Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) will be an added advantage
8-10 years’ relevant experience (in well-established organizations) in corporate banking or Wholesale banking with at least 5 years’ in head or senior management positions relevant to Transactional Banking, Trade, FI & Custodial Services.
Track record of attaining targets of business growth and profitability in the financial services and banking sector.
Have appreciation and operating knowledge of the banking industry, market, trends as well as challenges.
Demonstrable cross-cultural, people and relationship management skills, networking and negotiation skills, team motivation and leadership competence.
Sound understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements of corporate governance, business and banking operations.
Good understanding Bank’s lending principles, policies and procedures.
Prior experience of dealing with customers.
High degree of interpersonal skills when dealing with a range of people and situations.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
Good planning and personal organization
