The Food Service Cook first and foremost is responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She will perform all products cooking to The Naivas’ specifications and standards. All duties are performed in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • When a customer enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that customer.
  • Must be able to follow designated food production list.
  • Must be able to perform designated food production list in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to perform all cooking functions ensuring that cross contamination never occurs.
  • Must be able to perform all cooking functions safely.
  • Must be able to perform closing duties which include working the walk-in coolers and freezers, sweeping, spraying and squeegee floors and leaving work space organized, paying special attention to proper order of product storage
  • Prevent shrink, damage and spoilage of product to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Assist with building produce displays and ensure proper pricing and signage of products.
  • Perform produce duties such as stocking, wrapping, clean-up as assigned by management in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Learn and know recipes and proper product portioning
  • Maintain product at proper temperatures
  • Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are performed
  • Greet and speak politely with every customer on premises
  • Ensure proper food
    safety and sanitation procedures are performed.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required by management

    Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position, with skills in pizza baking.
  • Must be 24 years of age or older.
  • Form four leaver (KCSE C-)
  • Must be trained cook from recognized institution (Certificate or diploma in food production).
  • Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of position, including but not limited to standing, bending, lifting and walking.
  • Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude.
  • Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must maintain a current Food Safety certification
