Brief Background of the organization

  • Nairobi Club is a private members’ Club, owned by its Members. It was established in 1901 by Members who realized the need for a home environment in the heart of Nairobi. The Club is the second oldest and most popular establishment of its kind in Kenya.

  • We are situated at the fast-growing Upper Hill region north of the Central Business District – (CBD). It is an easy 5-minute drive from the City Centre to the heart of Kenya’s premier Club.

    Job Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join our management team. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health of our club. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can manage all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while driving efficiency and profitability

    Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the club’s growth and
    financial stability.

  • Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, financial
    planning, and analysis.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the Main Committee.

  • Manage the preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory
    requirements and internal policies.

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budget.

  • Oversee tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Manage relationships
    with external auditors, financial institutions, and other
    stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.

  • Develop and implement robust internal controls and financial procedures.

  • Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals and professional growth.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from a recognized
    institution. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • Possession of professional accounting qualifications – ACCA, CPA (K) or its
    equivalent.

  • Be a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) of good standing.

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, planning, and analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in the hospitality or members club industry is an advantage.
