Municipal Manager Jobs in Vihiga

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 28 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011, as read with section 59 (1) and (2) of the County Governments Act, 2012, the Vihiga County Public Service Board invites applications for the position of MUNICIPAL MANAGER at the Vihiga Municipality from competent and qualified persons:-

Terms of Service Three (3)year contract, renewable for a further term. Remuneration As prescribed by Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions of the Municipal Manager shall be to:

Implement the decisions and functions of the Board;

Enforce the provision and the of the Vihiga Municipal Charter and County legislation and other applicable laws;

Prepare and administer the annual municipality budget;

Organize Departmental structures and develop and administrative structure;

Appoint, supervise and remove municipality employees;

Administer municipality utilities and property;

Perform other duties as directed by the Board of the Municipality

Requirements for Appointment The applicant must:-

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Hold a master's degree in the field of management or administration from a university recognized in Kenya;

Prove experience of not less than five (10) years in management or administration in the public or private sector; Or

Be ordinarily resident or have a permanent dwelling within the County.

CHAPTER SIX MANDATORY Shortlisted candidates MUST meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity and will be required to produce clearance/compliance certificates from the following agencies:

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC)

Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA

Credit Reference Bureau CRB

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Good Conduct)
