Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry grade into this cadre. Work at this level will be carried out under close supervision and guidance of a more senior officer.
Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

Administering drugs to patients,

Keeping records of drugs administered;

Treating minor ailments;

Counselling Staff patients/clients;

Assessing patients’ needs for nursing services; and

Dispensing drugs to patients.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C (plain) or its equivalent qualification;

Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) or Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) from or any other recognized institution;

Be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya; and

Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution.
