Purpose of This Role

  • Responsible for the accuracy of management reports, budgets and forecasts, and financial planning for MCE. Support the Country leadership team in analyzing and improving financial results. The role includes performance of strategic and operational business cases to support decision-making and being the finance business partner on strategic projects executed in the country.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Perform Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Manage and execute the target setting, budget and forecast processes for MCE and ensure it aligns with the country objectives; liaise with MCG Corporate Finance for ultimate consolidation into MCG Group plans.

  • Attend regular and ad hoc finance, sales and operational meetings for results reviews.

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for in-country and MCG purposes

  • Prepare and submit rolling forecasts of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statements

  • Prepare & Submit monthly reporting pack (including financial performance and variance analyses of actuals against plans, forecasts, prior periods) for in-country review as well as MCG consolidated reporting purposes

  • Drive and contribute to relevant Finance projects as required in-country and by MCG Group.

    Business Partner

  • Provide meaningful ad hoc financial analysis as required.

  • Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve bottom line business performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented.

    People Management

  • Manage team members to ensure effective delivery of business unit objectives.

  • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching.

  • Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.

  • Determine and analyze
    development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.

  • Interview and recruit new members of the team

  • Approve leave requests for team members and create leave plan to ensure adequate coverage.

  • When required, initiate disciplinary processes in line with HR processes

  • Resolve grievances between team members

  • Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance Improvement program (PIP) and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.

  • Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognized.

    Job Requirements

  • CIMA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification desirable.

  • >6 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and a real knack for understanding commercial workings of a business enterprise;

  • Experience in reporting and variance analysis.

  • Knowledge and working knowledge of relevant corporation taxes.

  • Experience in multi-national environment will be an added advantage.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Experience managing and dealing with people.

  • Acts with integrity, objectivity and high standards of accountability.
