Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

  • To maintain and implement the Recruitment processes within MTN Uganda in order to identify and attract talented, quality, reliable and productive employees that will drive the business to success.

    Main Job Functions:

  • Support the management of all staff requisitions, Transfers, Promotions and Increases (TPIs) from Heads of Division (HODs) and secure relevant approvals.

  • In liaison with the HODs and Line managers, develop adverts for vacant positions, support the shortlisting process and set up interview assessments to include but not limited to Oral interviews, written and psychometric assessments for permanent and agency staff.

  • Administer pre-employment checks for successful candidates for instance reference checks, medical and security background, background checks with former employer, academic verification with universities.

  • Information management to include but not limited to Employment contracts, End of Probation, TPI Letters, Filing, Reporting, interview feedback and forms for Tools of trade & staff benefits.

  • Coordination of payments associated with recruitment

  • Liaise with the Senior Manager OD for Job profiles and ensure that there is sign off between the job holder and line manager.

  • Handle orientation for new staff during the 1st week from hire date and appraise them about the Employee Handbook and onboarding forms and have them loaded onto MTN systems e.g. HR
    Information Systems, Payroll and Address book.

  • Participate in the development and modification of HR policies on Recruitment.

  • Participate in audits thru the provision of information, identification of risk areas and adhere to Internal controls

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, human resources or Industrial and Organizational Psychology

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management & Development is an added advantage

    Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR preferably in Recruitment function with experience in working in a multicultural / multinational organization

  • Experience in working with Selection and Assessment tools and methods.

  • Exposure in a Telecommunications industry with experience in HR.
