MSF Switzerland Kenya Psychologist Jobs Opportunities
Responsibilities
Carrying out evaluation of mental health needs of survivors of sexual violence and establishing a plan of treatment.
Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team so that they receive the necessary treatment.
Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group) to survivors of sexual violence according to MSF protocols in order to improve their mental health conditions
Assisting and training staff members, sensitization of staff to the complexities and social taboos related to sexual violence
Collecting and registering individual data about mental health in SGBV register
Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to patients’ treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective
Liaise with social worker for linking the survivor to rescue centre resources
Liaise with lay counsellor in adapting plan of care to ensure the best level of support according to survivor needs
Ensure that all patient information is kept confidential.
Participate in reporting and analysis of collected data – reporting on trends and complexities related to stigma
Participates in community working groups and contributes experience and expertise as it relates to sexual violence prevention
Qualifications
Essential degree in Psychology
Relevant license to practice independently as a Psychologist
Essential 2 years’ experience minimum as a Psychologist with an interest in SRH and sexual violence
Kiswahili and English
Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

MSF Switzerland Kenya Clinical Officer - preferred female provider Jobs Opportunities
Responsibilities
Knowing and promoting the proper application of Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit and Sexually Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol.
Provides immediate and follow up holistic care for survivors of sexual violence – and able to identify the psychological needs of the patient in collaboration with the project psychologist
Carries out forensic and medico-legal services related to survivors of sexual violence – and maintains specimens according to protocol.
Ensure transport of specimens is carried out according to protocol to preserve the possibility, if desired by the survivor, that such specimens or suitable for proper forensic and DNA testing
Meticulous documentation of reported events on official documents
Familiar with all medico legal aspects of sexual violence
Able to counsel patient on PEP, STI prevention treatment including vaccinations, and pregnancy prevention options
Participate when possible in community networking as it pertains to communicating the services provided at the facility and the confidential nature of the services
Participates in rationale use of drugs reviews
Maintains line list data information on survivors in collaboration with the data team
Maintains responsibility for archiving patient files
Participates in mental health supervision services provided by an externa source as needed
Qualifications
Diploma in
clinical medicine and surgery or clinical medicine and community health from a recognised institution;
Certificate of registration from the clinical officers’ council
Desirable previous clinical supervision experience of at least one year and a special interest in SGBV
Kiswahili and English

MSF Switzerland Kenya Pharmacist Technician Jobs Opportunities
Responsibilities
Provide program continuity during supervisor’s absence and handovers; share knowledge of program with incoming staff in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
Dispensing of prescriptions to both OPD and IPD patients
Participation in rationale use of drugs reviews and in collaboration with the project pharmacist identifies weaknesses in the system or understanding of drug use and protocol to foster quality of care
Reports discrepancies in stock compared to consumption and reports to the project pharmacist
Participates in weekly and monthly consumption reporting – and is familiar with IsyStock software tools
Participates in pharmacy inventory
Assists with the ordering of pharmacy supplies and renewables in collaboration with the project pharmacist
Reports faulty or broken material to the immediate supervisor
Adheres strictly to universal precautions
Collaborates with the MoH counterpart working in OPD

MSF Switzerland Kenya Laboratory Technician Jobs Opportunities
Responsibilities
According to medical prescription, prepare and perform clinical exams/tests with appropriate techniques and following MSF protocols and procedures. This function includes, among others:
Participates in taking blood, vaginal and urethral samples
Centrifuge blood and urine samples.
Perform laboratory exams (serology, haematology, biochemistry, bacteriology or parasitological, blood groups and cross matching, according to context of the mission).
Participates in blood collection activities through blood drives or as a satellite blood collection site
Ensure proper reporting and registration of the sample results in order to keep a written track of activity and give information to the relevant persons, ensuring confidentiality.
Take care, manage and organize efficiently the laboratory material/equipment:
Apply hygiene and safety protocols, during daily cleaning /maintenance, sterilization, washing general glassware after procedures are complete – strict adherence to universal precautions.
Ensures proper sample waste disposal according to universal precautions and MSF protocols and highest safety standards
Supply orders, do stock, storage conditions follow-up, keep inventory.
Keep organized the data collection system of laboratory results and all information generated from the analysis done.
Qualifications
Essential Laboratory Technician diploma /degree and relevant license
Minimum 1 year working experience essential.
Kiswahili and English
Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
