Education, Skills and ExperienceMust have:
PhD in relevant area of specialization
Must be a Certified Public Accountant CPA (K).
Registered member of ICPAK
Possession of Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) will be an added advantage
3 years’ experience in a senior finance position (Grade 11) within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution
Computer literacy
OR
Masters of Commerce (Accounting/Finance)
Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Registered member of ICPAK
5years’ experience as a senior accountant in Grade 11
within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution
Computer literacy
Duties and responsibilities:
Supervise collection of student fees.
Ensure proper administration of student fees into respective student accounts.
Preparation of revenue reports for decision making.
Ensure fees enforcement compliance as per the university fee payment policy.
Supervision of revenue section staff.
Authentication of student refund requests before forwarding to the payables section.
Approval of student insurance requests to ensure timely processing of insurance covers before proceeding for attachment.
Verification of imprest requests for students proceeding on attachment.
Ensure proper student account adjustments for credit notes i.e credit transfers, academic leaves, suspension, deferment, course transfer, expulsion etc.
Ensure the fee structure in the system is as per the university approved fee structure.
Represent the Principal Finance Officer during student orientation.
Coordinate filling and maintenance of records for the receivables section.
Responsible for customer care in the revenue section
Represent student issues in the Finance Directorate Steering Committee meetings.
Liaise with sponsors and sponsor organizations i.e. CDF, HELB, Bursaries and guardians regarding fee payment.
