Qualification Education, Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Management or Marketing.
5 years’ relevant experience
Knowledge of bookstore retail operating principles, cashiering, budgeting, management principles, inventory, and accounting.
Effective planner and problem solver, neat and well-organized, friendly and approachable.
Duties and responsibilities:
Planning, organizing and managing bookshop activities
Developing and implementing the
store’s operating procedures.
Recommending appropriate related policies and internal controls
Preparing and managing yearly bookshop budgets
Managing and maintaining the bookshop accounting record, training, supervising and evaluating personnel.
Supervising staff in accounting functions and ordering books, supplies and related merchandise.
Arranging advertising materials; as well as oversee the planning, supervision and maintenance of stock and inventory.
Preparing a variety of reports and correspondence, resolving clients’ issues associated with merchandise.
Overseeing the receipt and transfer of cash receipts to the proper office
Recommend pricing merchandise; and ensuring the store is profitable by increasing sales and keeping costs low
Ensure maximum use and implementation of the ERP system
Engaging of customers by solving conflicts and sourcing for external businesses
Ensuring the bookshop equipment’s are well maintained and in good working condition
Serving as the secretary of the bookshop committee
Performing any other duties as may be delegated by your immediate supervisor.
