Mombasa Port Sacco Request for Proposal - Provision of External Audit Services Jobs in Kenya


Provision of External Audit Services For The Year 2019.

The purpose of this proposal is to request for provision of the statutory external audit services to Mombasa Port SACCO Society Ltd for the financial year 2019.

Mombasa Port SACCO Society Ltd is a leading and fast growing licensed Deposit Taking SACCO regulated by the Sacco Regulatory Authority SASRA havingan asset base of over shs. 5 billion and membership of over 6,000 drawn from the transport, education, utilities among other sectors.

The Society is seeking for the services of an External Auditor for the financial year ending 31st December 2019 in line with the Co-operative Societies Act and Sacco's Act.

Required Profile of the Audit Firm

Bidding firms will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Be registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and its partners must hold a current Practicing Certificate.
  • Have at least three partners who must be of good standing with ICPAK, while the Firm and its Partners should not have been subject to any disciplinary action by ICPAK or other related professional bodies.
  • Have been duly registered with Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives and SASRA.
  • Should have been in operation for a period of at least ten years and a confirmation that it has undergone a Quality Assurance Review by ICPAK.
  • Should demonstrate that it has the capacity. capability and experience required to undertake the audit within the required time lines.
  • Must have audited at least five reputable large SACCOs over the last five years to give reference
  • Must provide detailed CVs for the partners, current staff profiles and list of SACCOs audited.

    Request for Proposal Submission.

    Firms meeting the above criteria are requested to submit
    their proposals in two sealed envelopes as follows:

    Technical Proposal containing:

  • Confirmation of the firm's understanding of the Terms of Reference and its capacity and capability to deliver on the TOR;
  • The methodology, work—plan and timelines for undertaking and completing the assignment and the deliverables;
  • Appropriate references to demonstrate the experience specified in the TOR;
  • The CVs of key staff proposed to do the assignment.
  • Financial Proposal indicating the proposed fees and expenses.

    Other Requirements

  • Confirmation that neither the firm, nor any of its partners or key staff, has faced any disciplinary action by IDPAK or other professional bodies;
  • Confirmation that the firm and 1' or its partners and key staff are not aware of any conflict of interest which may exist with respect to Mombasa Port SACCO Ltd.
