Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Compliance

 Develop and implement hospital-wide quality assurance policies, procedures, and
frameworks.

 Ensure compliance with national and international healthcare quality and safety
standards.

 Conduct regular audits, quality assessments, and risk management reviews.

 Oversee the implementation of patient safety protocols and infection prevention
control measures.

 Coordinate with regulatory bodies such as the Kenya Medical Practitioners and
Dentists Council (KMPDC), Ministry of Health, and accreditation agencies.

 Investigate patient complaints, adverse events, and sentinel events, ensuring
corrective actions are implemented.

 Establish and oversee clinical governance structures and quality improvement
committees.

Facility Outreach Services

 Develop and implement strategies for expanding outreach healthcare services to
underserved communities.

 Oversee the operationalization of outreach clinics and community-based health
programs.

 Collaborate with county and national government health departments, NGOs,
and other stakeholders to strengthen outreach services.

 Monitor the impact and effectiveness of outreach programs, ensuring alignment
with the hospital’s strategic goals.

 Lead health promotion and education initiatives to improve community health
outcomes.

Performance Management and Training

 Provide leadership in continuous medical education (CME) and training for staff
on quality improvement and best practices.

 Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track
quality improvement progress.

 Work with departmental heads to drive a culture of accountability, transparency,
and excellence in service delivery.

 Foster a patient-centered approach to healthcare service provision.

Requirements for appointment

 Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBChB) or a related healthcare field.

 Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management, Quality Assurance, or
a related field.

 Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare management, with at least 5
years in a senior leadership role in quality assurance or hospital operations.

 Proven experience in implementing quality management systems in healthcare
settings.

 Strong knowledge of national healthcare policies, standards, and accreditation
requirements.

 Experience in community health programs and outreach services is an added
advantage.

 Training in healthcare Quality assurance added advantage
