Mombasa County Physical Planner 1 Jobs in Kenya

Required Qualifications

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution

Have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution including knowledge of GIS.

Must have worked as a planner for a minimum of Two (2) years;

Have demonstrated professional competence, ability, integrity and result oriented;

Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and

Any other relevant duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Chief Officer

Duties & Responsibilities

Preparing physical development plans, undertaking feasibility studies on Physical, Social, Economic and Environmental characteristics

Preparing county spatial plan including Towns/local centers development plans, Special areas plans, Subject/ thematic plans

Vetting and verification of building plans, regulation of the use of land, execution of development control and preservation orders

Resolving conflicts arising from physical planning processes

Initiating and undertaking research on urbanization strategies and policies

Compliance, Enforcement and Development Control

Preparation of budgets and work plans

Any other relevant duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Chief Officer
