Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for:

Being in charge of operation and maintenance of the University water supply;

Overseeing the operations and maintenance of the University Water Supply and Sewerage Systems;

Supervision of minor water supply and/or sewerage extension as designed by the Engineer;

Work out construction cost estimates for minor works;

Undertaking training needs for the Department; and

Any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

Have Higher National Diploma in Water Engineering or its equivalent;

Have seven (7) years relevant working experience; and

Have demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

For promotion to this grade, an officer must:

Have Higher National Diploma in Water Engineering or its equivalent;

Have served as Water Technician I or Sewerage Technician I Grade 7/8 for at least three (3) years; and

Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
