Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for;

Collection and preparation of teaching and research material;

Carrying out analytical work in specialized discipline;

Conducting research with students in consultation with the Academic staff;

Assisting the teaching staff and students in carrying out various laboratory/workshop and field
activities;

Supervising and training personnel on specialized applications;

Keeping proper inventory records of the equipment, teaching and research materials;

Carrying out quality assurance programs;

Ensuring proper arrangements of workshops/laboratory and assisting in carrying out various laboratory/workshop including fie ld activities; and

Performing any other duties as assigned from time lo lime.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

Have Bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution;
OR

Have Higher National Diploma m relevant discipline from a recognized institution, for
Medical and Engineering fields;

Have Computer skills in relevant packages from a recognized institution;

Have served in the grade of Technician, Grade 7/8 or in a comparable relevant
position for at least three (3) years;

Be registered and licensed by the relevant professional body; and

Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results .
