Misericordiae Hospital Senior Registrar – Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Jobs in Kenya



Main Duties:
  • Providing pre and post-anaesthetic assessment and care of patients in the hospital
  • Working with surgeons to administer anaesthetics in a manner that is safe for the
    procedure being done
  • Providing support on the management of patients admitted to the ICU in conjunction
    with Consultants, Registrars, ICU coordinator and other support staff.
  • Addressing promptly any concerns raised by patients or their kin in regard to care or
    treatment given in consultation with the Director of Medical Services and other
    professionals.
  • Documenting and maintaining records of all procedures undertaken.
  • Guiding, supervising and providing continuous education to junior medical staff and
    students.
  • Keep abreast with trends, development and utilization of technology in the field of
    anaesthesia and intensive care medicine on an ongoing basis.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing
    reports as required.

    Required Qualifications for the Position
  • MMED in Anaesthesia and Critical care
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB)
  • Minimum 3 years as a Senior Medical Officer
  • At least 1 year in a busy theatre
  • Ability to train & develop staff
  • Registered with KMPDC with a valid practicing license
