Qualifications and Requirements:

For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -

served for a minimum period of nine (9) years and currently serving in the grade of Senior Petroleum Officer, CSG 9 and above or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service;

a Bachelors of Science degree in any of the following disciplines: Geochemistry, Geology, Chemistry, Geo-science or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; and

shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include: -

overseeing development, implementation and reviewing of policies, strategies and programs in the oil and gas sector; advising the government on the commercial and economic value of oil and gas fields;

overseeing implementation of environment and social impact assessment report;

coordinating and analyzing geochemical and exploration reports;

analyzing and preparing geochemical models for oil and gas exploration and production projects;

coordinating all geochemical operations relating to petroleum exploration and production;

reviewing geochemical reports;

interpreting geochemical survey and data;

analyzing and preparing geochemical models for oil and gas exploration and production projects; and

coordinating all geochemical operations relating to petroleum exploration development and production
