Ministry of Information and Communication Technology Senior ICT Infrastructure Engineer (Radios) Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Electronic Engineering; or Electrical Engineering; or Telecommunications Engineering; or Communications Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.

Possession of at least a Post Graduate Diploma in a Management field or in any of the above related field of training will be an added advantage.

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience at the level of ICT Infrastructure Engineer (Radios) in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal ICT Infrastructure Engineer (Radios) for performing the following duties:-

Documenting and maintaining records/database of all licensed spectrum users in Uganda;

Monitoring and advising on frequency spectrum usage in the Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance sector;

Conducting periodic spot check on EMF emission levels from communications equipment including masts;

Monitoring and evaluating implementation of legislations, policies, plans and strategies on radio spectrum;

Participating

in monitoring and evaluation of technological developments and service trends in the ICT sector on a regular basis;

Supervising, monitoring and evaluating implementation of the licensing and regulatory frameworks spectrum;

Conducting research on advances and development of the Communications Technologies and trends;

Regularly identifying issues (of policy in nature) in spectrum allocations and assignments to be addressed by Government;

Supervising and appraising of subordinate staff;

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
