Ministry of Agriculture, Animal & Fisheries Senior Laboratory Technician Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology or Science Technology-Biology from a recognized University/Institution.

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the field of Biomedical Laboratory Technology or Science Technology at Laboratory Technician Level in Government.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Laboratory Technician for performing the following duties:-

Setting the required disease, pest and weed climate standards and conditions;

Collecting samples, preparing and carrying out quality control under sterile conditions;

Undertaking quality control activities/experiments in order to facilitate proper investigations and tests development;

Participating in activities leading to the identification of pests, diseases and weed strains in the country;

Preparing re-agents and materials used in the laboratories;

Establishing and maintaining records related to tests and investigation of pests, diseases and weeds;

Undertaking supportive research activities and quality control experiments;

Carrying out proper storage and use of all laboratory equipment;

Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
