Job DescriptionTerms of Reference:
The Employee will undertake work in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for Millennium DPI Partners (MDPI) in support of the Feteh (Justice) Activity pursuant to MDPI’s contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Under the supervision of and reporting directly to the Chief of Party (COP), the Employee shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of his/her employment with
Read and understand clearly the Feteh work plan and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Plan;
Manage all Activity activities focused on communications and public outreach, and be ultimately responsible for the success of Feteh in executing all communications and public outreach activities;
Meet regularly with governmental and non-governmental partners to introduce them to Feteh and involve them in Activity activities;
Develop and implement strategies for addressing priority Activity communication needs as agreed with the COP and Deputy COP;
Where requested, assist with the selection of local organization(s) to assist Feteh with public outreach initiatives;
Assist with designing the outreach and public communication activities in each Feteh annual work plan to be submitted to USAID;
Oversee the design and execution of media, public awareness, or other outreach campaigns both nationally and regionally, whether executed by the Activity or by a subcontractor or grantee;
Ensure all Activity deliverables are properly branded and marked in accordance with MDPI style manual and USAID Branding and Marking Plan;
Serve as Activity liaison to media organizations;
Draft and refine communication tools in accordance with industry practice;
Draft statements of work for
media and communication-related efforts of the Activity;
Prepare media tools such as media releases, talking points, web posts, and other media elements, as opportunities arise;
Ensure that the Activity obtains appropriate approvals for media activities;
Exercise initiative to identify Activity activities that are good topics for USAID snapshots (“success stories”), including photographs, and draft and submit at least one per quarter to the COP;
Produce written material on a monthly basis or on request of the COP to ensure that Feteh’s quarterly and annual reports contain a clear description of all details of activities and events having taken place in the communications and public outreach area;
Collaborate with all other Activity components and Activity staff to ensure Feteh success in achieving work plan and MEL objectives.
Other duties as assigned by the COP or his/her designee

Minimum Qualifications
Employee will meet the following minimum qualification standards for the position, although where appropriate equivalent experience has been indicated:
Degree Required:
University degree
Years of Experience/ Experience Required:
5 years
Experience in developing communication strategies that address a range of targeted topics;
Experience in media messaging;
Ability to develop professional reports and plans;
Language Skills:
Fluency in spoken and written English and Amharic
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
Other Skills:
Ability to manage multiple work assignments under minimal supervision;
Ability to pay close attention to detail;
Excellent communication and management skills.
