Job DescriptionEmployee will serve as Driver and will carry out duties designed to meet the objectives of the Feteh Activity pursuant to Millennium DPI (MDPI)’s contract with USAID.
Employee will have the following responsibilities:
Provide chauffeur services to Chief of Party and Activity staff and consultants as needed;
Provide messenger and delivery/pickup services;
Operate Activity vehicle in a safe and courteous manner;
Manage the Activity vehicle and ensure vehicle is clean inside and outside;
Coordinate daily requests for Activity vehicle from the team & plan accordingly;
Prepare and maintain vehicle log;
Review trip sheets, vehicle maintenance accident reports, and other vehicle records that are requested from management;
Plan car maintenance and regular services, and maintain contacts with the garage for maintenance of project vehicle;
Perform minor maintenance tasks for Activity vehicle;
Plan the purchase of small spare parts for Activity vehicle;
Report regularly to the Administration Manager.
Provide on-site management of operational support for Feteh’s activities;
Provide inputs for the
inventory of equipment and report to MDPI on a quarterly basis;
Assist the Administration Manager for the day-to-day operations of the office including maintenance/custodial staff as relates to transport, travel, protocol, expatriate immigration formalities, and customs clearance tasks;
By delegation of the Administration Manager, ensure effective and efficient reception of goods from vendors;
Undertake other duties as appropriate and as assigned by the FAD to achieve Feteh’s goals in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Employee will meet the following minimum qualification standards for the position, although where appropriate equivalent experience has been indicated:
Degree Required
High School diploma
Years of Experience/Experience Required: 5+ years of driving experience; prior experience working with internationally-funded projects;
Valid driver’s license and mastery of the driving code
Language Skills: Fluency in writing and spoking Amharic and English. Knowledge of other local language skills desirable
Able to do minor vehicle maintenance
Other Skills: Team player, organized
