Migori County - Tourism Officer - Marketing and Promotion - Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities

Overall promotion and marketing of county tangible and intangible tourism products.

County tourism destination marketing.

Development of county brand

Development and operation of County Tourism Website for local digital tourism marketing and promotion.

County Visitor information storage and interpretation.

Supporting the formulation, development and implementation of local tourism marketing and promotion policies, strategies and programmes.

Collecting and maintaining data on tourism statistics;

Identifying suitable location for mounting tourist signages.

Maintaining a register of tourism facilities and services.

Any other duties related to the effective marketing and promotion of the county as an attractive tourist destination

Requirements for Appointment

Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Tourism Management, Tours and Travel Operations, Marketing or any equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Leisure Tourism and Environmental Management, Business Administration (Marketing), or its equivalent from a recognized university.

A Diploma certificate in ICT from a recognized institution

Migori County Public Service Board located at Nyamome along Namba – Masara road adjacent to Nyamome SDA church.

All applications should reach the Secretary/CEO Migori County Public Service Board on or before Thursday 21st January, 2021 at 5:00pm.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original identity cards, academic and professional certificates and testimonials.

For candidates to meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, applicants must obtain the following clearance:

• Tax compliance certificate from KRA

• Clearance certificate from HELB

• Clearance certificate from Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC)

• Certificate of good conduct from Criminal Investigation Department
