IntroductionMicro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT), was established in the year 2002 with the
Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT), is a development organization established
in the year 2002 with the aim of supporting the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises
by solving pressing challenges such as alleviation of poverty, promotion of sustainable economic
growth and creation of employment for small holder farmers and other value chain actors
Responsibilities
Policy, Procedure and Controls: Develop procedures for the finance function that are
aligned to the approved policies, ensure compliance, effect controls and sensitize staff on the policies & procedures.
Budgeting: Work with respective managers to develop annual & project. Confirm that
proposed budgets adhere to organizational, donor, statutory and professional guidelines.
Review the data departmental budget and consolidate budgets to create the overall
organization budget for BOT approval.
Financial Management & Control: Process the payroll, Review and verify all invoices
payment vouchers for approval of payment. Review and verify all transactions posted into
sub ledgers. Prepare the general ledger. Remit statutory deductions and taxes including
but not limited to corporate tax, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, etc. Review and verify bank
reconciliations, supplier accounts, update the loan portfolio, issue and follow up imprest
surrenders.

Monitoring & Reporting: Prepare monthly financial accounts and management reports.
Discuss the reports with the respective heads and portfolio managers to understand the
reasons for any variance and document the same.
Financial Systems:
Ensure effective management of Navision ERP. Effective utilization of
the document management system, ensure effective filing, manual or electronic.
Implementing Partner Reviews, Internal and External Audits: Plan for partner reviews,
Internal and External audits. Address issues raised in draft reports and management
letters and give responses. Undertake corrective and preventative actions identified by partner reviews and audits, investigations or other assessment mechanisms within the
agreed time frame.
Risk Management: Co-ordinate, the risk management function of the Trust.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Commerce, business administration, economics, or related field
CPA (K) holder or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with 2 years as an audit senior in a reputable
audit firm
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Excellent working knowledge of Financial ERP system
Excellent knowledge of IFRS and its application
Knowledge on Risk Management will be an added advantage
