The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) is a State Corporation established under Micro and Small Enterprises Act No. 55 of 2012.

The Authority (MSEA) is categorized as a Service Corporation, PC 3B and is domiciled in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives.

MSEA was established for the promotion, development, regulation of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) Sector in Kenya.

The Authority is mandated to formulate and review policies and programmes, promote and develop MSE sector, monitor and evaluate implementation policies, programmes and activities related to MSE development.

Further, the Authority is established to coordinate, harmonize and facilitate integration of various Public and private policies, programmes and activities related to Micro and Small Enterprises in Kenya.

The Authority is seeking to recruit a highly competent, proactive and self-driven individual to fill the following vacant position;

Position:

Enterprise Development Officer (Mse Capacity Building &linkages) 1 Post; Ref. No: Msea- 3/3/2019 (Msea Grade 7)

Key Duties and Responsibilities;

Collecting data related to micro enterprises promotion;

Mobilising MSE operators and assisting in recruiting exhibitors and trainees;

Recruiting trainers; assisting in land acquisition;

Implementing MSE programmes.

Facilitating technology transfer amongst MSE operators.

Conducting business counselling and trainings;

Providing mentorship for aspiring youth entrepreneurs;

Conducting research on MSEs;

Collecting and analysing data on MSE issues;

Compiling training and exhibition reports;

Conducting MSE sector needs assessment; and

Undertaking micro-financing, marketing, infrastructure, and start up programmes and support.

Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Commerce, Business Administration, Enterprise Development, Entrepreneurship, Business Management or Information Technology from a recognized institution;

Proficiency in computer application skills.

Demonstrate thorough understanding of the mission, vision, and strategies of MSEA and the ability to clearly interpret and apply the role of Micro and Small Enterprise in

Kenya’s social economic development and particularly in line with vision 2030 and the Big four agenda

In addition, all prospective candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of leadership and integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya and attach the following documents to their applications:-

Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission clearance Certificate (EACC)

Kenya Revenue Authority Tax compliance Certificate (KRA)

Higher Education Loans Board clearance Certificate(HELB)

Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department (CID)

Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau
