Meru County Government Director Environment Jobs in Kenya
The County Government of Meru wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill vacancies in the following departments as per the constitution of Kenya 2010.
Department of Environment Wildlife and Natural ResourcesResponsibilitiesCoordinate different units of the environment sections environmental officers.
Plan and monitor environment activities in the department.
Manage projects related to the environment in the department
Implement policies and regulation related to environment and natural resources in the county manage performance of staff reporting to him/her.
Monitor daily field activities related to
outdoor advertisement, natural resources and
social amenities.
Coordinate youth groups in relation to
environment and natural resources conservation
activities
Represent the department on different forum
related to environment and natural resource
Prepare write-ups, presentation and annual
environmental status report related to the
environment and natural resources of the County
Job description
Provide input into the budget process
relating to environment and natural resource.
Policy development for the environment
and natural resources section.
Charting goals for the environment section.
Allocation of work and coordination of
employees to directorate
Qualifications
Be a Kenya Citizen.
Must have KCSE C+ and
above or its equivalent qualification
Be a holder of Degree in Environmental science or Environmental conservation and natural resource management from a recognized University.
Must have a Master’s degree in the same field.
Must have 5 Years work experience in a senior position in the relevant field
Demonstrate a high degree of professional and technical competence as reflected in
work
Performance & results.
Be conversant with Environmental laws and
various national policies on conservation.
Knowledgeable in environmental conservation
and gainful exploitation of forest Resources.
Practical skills in designing & execution of community based environmental projects.
Demonstrate merit and ability as
reflected in work performance and results.
Must have a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized
institution OR attended senior management course from Kenya school of government.
