Mercy Corps International Chief of Party - Kenya Election Violence Prevention Program Jobs in Kenya

Program/Department Summary:

Mercy Corps is implementing a Kenya Election Violence Prevention and Response Program (KEVP) that works to mitigate the risk of escalation of election-related violence in the lead up to, during, and immediately following the Kenyan elections.

General Position Summary:

The Chief of Party (Cop will) lead the program that will pursue three inter-related objectives;

Identify and map the relationships between key influential actors, in identified at-risk area% capable of mobilizing people toward and away from violence;

Develop Of expand upon existing structures that facilitate coordination and information sharing related to electoral security planning and response between identified local Influencers, including community leaders, local administrators, and the security sector, and;

Work with electoral security structures to develop plans and processes that enhance prevention and responses to early indicators of violence.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Master's degree in conflict mitigation, social sciences, international relations or other relevant field preferred;
• Minimum 8 years' relevant professional experience implementing conflict management and peace-building programs, preferably in insecure or transitional environments;
• Previous experience managing a portfolio of programs in insecure environments;
• Experience in at least one of the following program areas: election violence prevention, protection/ psycho-social, economic development, and/or natural resource management;
• Knowledge of people-to-people peace-building programs and 'Do No Harm' principles;
• Familiarity and experience with USAID regulations preferred;
• Demonstrated experience with new program development and design including leading the proposal development process.

Mercy Corps International Senior Operations Officer Jobs in Kenya

Program/Department Summary:

The Senior Operations Officer will

tiffse closely with Mercy Corps' Procurement Administration and Logistics Management (PALM) team with regard to the full implementation of standard Mercy Corps policies and procedures.

General Position Summary:

The Senior Operators Officer will manage all administrative and logistics support functions for the Mercy Corps program in Kenya.

The successful candidate 0 expected to travel 50% of his/her time to field offices and to program implementation sites to strengthen the skills of logistics and procurement staff and ensure compliance with Mercy Corps systems.

Knowledge and Experience:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management discipline, business administration, public administration, commerce or related field or a Master degree is an added advantage.
• Additional professional qualification and certification as a Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya ICPSP - KI ox equivalent certification from a recognized institution is required,
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in operational coordination and support functions with an international non-governmental organization or in the private sector;
• Experience in overseeing procurement and logistics operations and systems;
• Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing complex administration and operational systems;
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading teams in humanitarian assistance and development field.
