Job Description

Meklit Microfinance Institution S.C is a transformed Commercial Microfinance institution S.C initially established according to proclamation no. 40/96 and recently revised proclamation 626/2009 issued by National Bank Of Ethiopia to provide financial and non-financial services to Medium, Small Enterprise and the low income people, particularly women, at both urban and rural areas of Ethiopia.

Meklit MFI is currently looking for competent candidates for Property or collateral valuation Officer post for its head office. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:

Job Responsibilities and Experience

Undertakes, in accordance with the appropriate guide lines, valuation of buildings and other construction works for collateral or foreclosure purposes

Undertake maintenance work of building properties, when and if required

Undertakes office layouts of new branch
studies market values of civil works, analyze condition of property and assessing current market value of real estate

Prepares procedure and formats to facilitate the gathering of data for technical evaluation

Studies location and trends that could influence future value

of property

Performs other civil engineering works including; designing, preparation of bills of quantities and supervision role as required

Performs other duties as required

Job Requirements

Education:

B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management and any other related fields with 3 years of experience in relevant field, preferably in Microfinance or banking industry.

Competencies

3 years of relevant Experience

Proven Civil engineering Knowledge

Sufficient knowledge of financial management techniques and best practices

Familiarity with Microfinance or banking industry’s rules and regulations

Excellent organizational skills

Demonstrated Technical ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with to others at all levels.

Good conceptual understanding of participatory approach and sustainable development

Basic computer software application skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills
